Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road) I-95 Overpass and Road Replacements

  • DCIM100MEDIADJI_0060.JPG

This $22.4 Million Design-Build project provided multiple benefits by addressing current and future traffic demand; enhancing motorist, pedestrian and bicyclist safety; and replacing a structurally deficient overpass bridge.

To accomplish this, the existing two-lane bridge on Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road) over I-95 was replaced with a new bridge consisting of four-lanes, additional lane width to accommodate bicyclists and a raised sidewalk for pedestrians. Other project improvements included reconstructing Mudd Tavern Road at the interchange, adjusting interchange ramp connections to Mudd Tavern Road, and reconfiguring a portion of Mallard Road.

Quinn provided a part-time Quality Assurance Manager as well as a Senior Quality Assurance Inspector who were responsible for planning, overseeing, and reviewing the reports for all aspects of the project. The Inspector worked closely with contractors, the QA and QC teams, and the owner’s engineers to identify problems and resolutions. Additional responsibilities included assigning duties to QA inspectors and monitoring/summarizing progress reports and attending weekly meetings to discuss project progress.
