This $30.7 Million Design-Build project created a new connection between Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Avenue) and Fall Hill Avenue. The 2.17-mile project widened Fall Hill Avenue from two lanes to a four-lane roadway with a raised median from Carl D. Silver Parkway (Central Park) to a roundabout just west of the bridge over the Rappahannock Canal. Mary Washington Boulevard was also extended to intersect with the roundabout, providing a free flow connection for traffic between the intersecting streets.
Other features of the project included construction of two new bridges over I-95, shared use path, medians, sidewalks, park facilities with two baseball fields and a basketball court, and storm water management facilities.
Quinn provided construction management, quality assurance inspection including the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM), and coordination of QA/QC teams to ensure the work was executed in accordance with project plans and VDOT specifications and met the minimum VDOT QA/QC requirements.
