Hampton Roads Districtwide Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Contracts

Since 2003, Quinn has been providing daily construction and coatings inspection, maintenance of traffic, and office engineering support on various projects for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Hampton Roads District. Recent projects include Hampton Boulevard Grade Separation; Interstate 264 Ramps to London Bridge Road; Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel and Interstate 64 Twin Bridges to Greenbrier Parkway Concrete Repair; I-64 Guardrail, Milling and Pavement Repair/Overlay; Route 58/Midtown Tunnel/Route 17 Bridge Painting Project, and utility relocation inspection support. Earlier assignments include the Route 164 Pinners Point Interchange and Port Norfolk Connector Project and the I-64/Mercury Boulevard Interchange Improvements Project.

Staff responsibilities include monitoring contractor activities for compliance with contract documents, plans, and VDOT Standards and Specifications; daily documentation of project activities using SiteManager; estimate preparation and submission; project file system setup and maintenance including posting of project documents on the VDOT Portal; materials notebook management; materials testing and inspection associated with all types of transportation construction activities from maintenance and repair of road, bridges and wharfs to new construction, improvements to or replacement of existing roadway, bridges, sound walls, and other associated structures.
