Summary of Employee Benefits

  • Annual Leave: 2 weeks per year, plus one additional day per year of employment starting with the second year, up to a maximum of 4 weeks per year for all full time employees.
  • Personal/Sick Leave: 1 week per year for all full time employees.
  • Annual and Personal/Sick leave will be accrued, beginning with the first pay period of employment.  Accrual rate will be 1/26th of a year’s worth of leave per pay period.    For example, a new hire would receive approximately 3.08 hours of annual leave and 1.54 hours of personal/sick leave each pay period over the course of a year to receive 2 weeks of annual leave and 1 week of sick leave. QCS, Inc. has a vacation carry over maximum of 120 hours.  The cut off to use or loss your leave is on April 1st each year.

  • Employees receive 11 paid holidays. If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, the holiday will be the closest business day to the actual holiday.  For example, if July 4th is on a Sunday, the QCS, Inc. holiday will be observed on Monday the 5th and if New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday,  the QCS, Inc. holiday will be on Friday, December 31st.  If you have questions about a given holiday, call the main office at 703-818-0721.
  • If an employee is requested to work on an observed holiday,  they will be paid 8 hours at a straight time hourly rate plus straight time for any additional hours required to work.
  • Employees will be paid for overtime when the client pays QCS, Inc. for overtime. If the client pays time and a half, QCS will pay time and a half. If the client pays straight time overtime then QCS will pay straight time overtime.  QCS employees will also be paid overtime for hours over 40 associated with employee participation in project related training, contract related conferences such as inspectors’ conferences, and management requested marketing support such as short list presentations, client marketing visits, etc. Time and a half overtime will not be paid for leave.   If an employee has 48 hours on their timesheet in a given week and 8 of those hours are vacation or personal leave,  the employee will be paid for 48 hours at their regular hourly rate.  If you have questions about the overtime policy on the contract/project that you are working on please contact the main office.
  • Two days of administrative leave will be granted for a death in the immediate family (Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Child, Grandparent, Spouse) for full time employees.
  • If you are a full time employee who is scheduled to work for QCS for at least three consecutive months you will be eligible for QCS Health Insurance.  If you opt in to the QCS plan, we will pay 100% of your individual Health Insurance premium and 50% of your family’s health insurance premium. There is a waiting period of at least one full month before health insurance coverage begins for a new employee, and coverage begins on the first day of the month after that waiting period is complete. For example, if you start work on May 15th, your insurance coverage would begin on July 1.
  • Full time, Long Term Employee Insurance includes major medical, hospital/surgery, office visits, prescriptions, physicals/immunizations, dental and vision.  This insurance is available for full time employees who are scheduled to be with the company for at least 3 consecutive months. QCS, Inc. reserves the right to change insurance carriers at any time.
  • QCS, Inc. offers voluntary Short Term Disability Insurance to full time employees.  This benefit is optional and is made available for employee purchase out of pocket.
  • QCS, Inc. carries a flat $50,000 Life Insurance policy on all full time employees who are scheduled to be with the company for at least 3 consecutive months. Even those who opt not to take part in the company health insurance plan.  This life insurance is provided at no cost to employees.
  • QCS, Inc. has additional term life insurance you may purchase for you, your spouse and your children in $10,000.00 increments.  This is in addition to the $50,000.00 of coverage provided by QCS to all full time employees.  
  • QCS, Inc. has a 401(k) retirement plan for eligible employees. All employees are eligible after 6 months of full time employment, or an equivalent number of hours if they are part time. QCS will match up 100% of employee contributions up to 3% of base salary, and 50% of employee contributions between 3% and 5% of their base salary.
  • Paydays are every other Thursday for the previous 2 weeks up to and through the previous Friday.  Timesheets are due at the main office EVERY FRIDAY by close of business via fax, email or voicemail message, with signed hardcopy originals due the following Thursday.
  • Direct Deposit is available to employees (anyone with a checking or savings account with a federally insured bank).
  • When required by clients, a vehicle will be provided for the employee unless their driving record prohibits them from being added to the QCS, Inc. Automobile Insurance Policy.  Driving records will be checked through the QCS auto insurance provider and the DMV before new employment paperwork can be completed.
  • When a company vehicle is leased for an employee assigned to a billable project, QCS, Inc. will pay for auto insurance, maintenance and gas.
  • All employees must maintain an up-to-date maintenance and mileage log for vehicles used on company projects.  Mileage logs must separate commuting, job-site, and other mileage for reimbursement, invoicing and auditing purposes.  Blank mileage logs will be provided when required.
  • Other equipment required by the job will be provided for the employee (computer, cell phones, etc.).
  • $1000 per year tuition/training reimbursement is available to all full time employees (for training related to current or near future job assignments).  A grade of Pass, B or better is required for reimbursement of training not paid for in advance by the company.  If the employee leaves the company within a year of tuition/training reimbursement, the employee is required to reimburse QCS, Inc. for the training expense.
  • End of year performance bonuses will be distributed at the end of each calendar year at the discretion of management based on annual performance.
  • If an employee is let go due to a lack of work, he/she will be paid for any unused vacation. Personal leave must be used during employment and will not be available for payout after employee’s last day of billable work with QCS, Inc.  If an employee chooses to leave QCS, Inc. before a project is complete or is let go at a clients request he/she will not be eligible for payment of unused leave.
